Drunken clown dangled child from overpass: officials
Thu Oct 31, 2013
My mother wasn't around, and my father raised me on his own. So are you saying he should have shipped me off to my grandmother because he shouldn't be around me unsupervised? And stupid beliefs like that do feed into men not thinking it's appropraite for them to have custody of their children.
More single dads than ever head US households
Wed Jul 3, 2013
I'm a 36 yo raised by my father from the age of 8. Until I graduated high school, my father had breakfast on the table waiting for me when I got downstairs in the mornings. As of today, I am a big proponent of fathers having custody. And no, my mother didn't pay child support. &nbs …
Don't 'friend' students on Facebook, NYC teachers told
Wed May 2, 2012
I would have thought that would be a no-brainer. I graduated high school 15 years ago, and I still feel weird having my former teachers and professors as "friends".
Half of cancer survivors die from other diseases
Tue Apr 3, 2012
I might be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure 100% of cancer survivors die.
Sudden OCD in kids? Culprit may be strep throat, other infections
Fri Feb 24, 2012
Strep as a trigger to other things is a reality for me. I am 34 years old, and I have rheumatic fever that has been triggered by strep. Every time I have a sore throat, I have to get checked. I have to deal with cardiac damage due to the "mis-firing" of my immune system.
Cops: Man skinned and ate cat, used tail as necklace
Fri Jan 20, 2012
We don't eat carnivores? I had grilled shark the other night. There are people who eat alligator and snake. Pigs are omnivores. The man was hungry, and he ate what was available to him. Like other posters have said, he needs help for the entrails around his neck.
Internet posting pointed to Sandusky
Thu Nov 17, 2011
Most victims, especially boys, do not report molestation immediately, if ever. Especially if it's someone that everyone else loves so much.
Bright baubles: Get statement jewelry for under $100
Mon Nov 7, 2011
The local artists where I live are not in my budget. You would be hard pressed to find something under $100, and yes, I understand they have to account for time and supplies. I actually shop at a Ten Thousand Villages, a local fair-trade store.
Docs admit hospital VIPs get faster care in the ER
Fri Sep 30, 2011
When I began volunteering in one of the local ER's in my city, I was told at the orientation that hospital executives, donors, and their families do not wait in the ER. And as a volunteer, it was my job to make sure they had blankets, coffee, snacks, etc. as needed.
Classroom 'crisis': Many teachers have little or no experience
Mon Sep 26, 2011
Maybe some of you need to review what mean, median, and mode are. The article said the MODE had droped to one-two years, not the mean (or in non-statistical terms, the average).
